The Joys of Setting up My First Blog

Facing my fear of Blogging is turning into a WordPress nightmare. Actually, I should Blog about learning to Blog. My techie friend who volunteered to help set up my site may be sorry he opened his mouth. It’s a comedy routine… he tells me how to log in. I set up my own password and forget to logout, so then he can’t get back in. He changed my Blog theme, but I changed it back. I managed to create a couple of drafts but now I can’t figure out how to get them back. Maybe, I have to sign in as Admin instead of Author.
If you hear howling in the wind… that would be me. Ok, you might hear a curse or two also. My gray hair is getting whiter by the second — good thing I always wanted to be a blond, as NOW I’m a toe-head!

Watch where you step out there, as I’m losing my marbles! It’s turning out that my blog’s name, Gwynn’s Grit and Grin, is definitely far truer than anticipated! I’m gritting my teeth.

I’m beginning to think that I should volunteer to be WordPress’ “crash test” dummy, as their instructions don’t work for someone completely ignorant of dealing with any forms of technology.  Heck, I can’t even fully operate my old fashioned cell phone… “how do I put my call on hold so I can answer the waiting call?”

As you can see, I have a learning curve to straddle here… hang on for the ride.

  2. Hi Gwynn,

I love the title and the header and the honesty of your first post. It’s like that in the beginning, but you’ll get the hang of it — WordPress, I mean. Your blog page looks very nice. Very attractive — the picture expresses your purpose.

    Good morning and Congratulations!!!!

It looks good! I am so happy to see you step out of the shadows into the sunlight. Great work Gwynn. Keep it up! Everyone has to learn and everyone starts out with nothing. Some of them may have a little bit more theoretical learning but the experience comes from doing.

Happy for you and I truly look forward to visiting your website more often.
