Theme Reveal to A to Z Blogger’s Challenge

Theme Reveal

I’m laughing as it seems the Gods do not want me to reveal my A to Z Challenge Theme.  First, I was without a computer for a week, so I missed the Theme Reveal Date and I see that the list is now closed. Then today when I tried to leave a comment on the Theme Reveal page, the comment publisher would not accept my URL as I don’t have a regular WordPress Blog.  Since I am a technical idiot too, trying to figure out an alternative way of REVEALING myself to the public evidently was too scary for the publisher so I’m on my own.  Heck, being naked before the world terrifies me too!

So hold on to your hats… my Theme for the 2016 A to Z Blogger’s Challenge will be about Caregiving… both my emotions and what I’m dealing with while caring for my sick husband.

In my Insecure Writer’s Support Group I shared that as of Christmas my husband ended up in the hospital needing surgery on an unusual and very large hiatal hernia.  In addition, the surgery accentuates my husband’s VERY low blood pressure, so in essence he can simply stand up and PASS OUT!  As his wife, this can be scary and frustrating as my husband no longer can do much of anything to help me.  My husband’s experiences have been terrifying and painful.  To add to this fun, NOW we have to move as we are no longer capable of caring for our home and yard.

So how do you downsize when you are by yourself, essentially?  Heck, others have been in this position, so NOW I get to experience the fun… you’ll find out.  I hope you will stay tuned.  If nothing else, I LOVE words of support!

Your reveal came through for me. Good luck as April begins your challenge!

  2. Gwynn Rogers says:

Oh man, what a week! The A to Z Challenge website would not accept my registration of my theme… so I’m totally frustrated. Then, there were a bunch of comments that had not been forwarded to me, much to my embarrassment. Now, I’m caught up. April is approaching quickly. I have done a bit of writing, but I DO need to kick into gear!

Thanks for your comment, Tina. Happy Easter!!

  3. Gulara says:

Gwynn, I’m delighted to read this post. I hope taking part in the challenge will offer space to share your challenges, receive some support and know that you are not alone.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Thanks Gulara, for your support and kindness! Since I’ll be moving in April, and doing some serious downsizing, this will be the Challenge of all challenges. We need to make these changes, but they won’t be fun! I do so appreciate your comments!

  4. Susan Scott says:

You’ll do great Gwynn! Of course it’s always nerve=wracking but remember we have your back and I for one can’t wait! Hope this gets through to you!

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

My guess is that the other people who left messages had not been pre-approved by me. I thought I had changed that setting, but I guess not. Next time when I post something and I don’t receive any responses, I think I’d better check my blog admin site.

I have started writing, but I need to do a LOT more because April is going to be NUTS for me. I truly hope I survive this Challenge.

I truly appreciate your support!! Congratulations again regarding Davey’s and Jute’s wedding. They are an adorable couple! Have fun!

  5. This should be an interesting topic, and one that will help a lot of people. As your sort-of “neighbor,” I’m happy to help you with whatever you need. Please keep me in mind.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Nadine, you are a DEAR!! I’m laughing though… we will be downsizing DRASTICALLY! Need any kitchen stuff, nick-knacks, books, magazines, and God only knows what? Know anyone who wants to buy a Samsung color printer that is mostly out of toner? John’s printer is a scanner and copier so we’ll keep that one. We are moving up to Kingston so we will be a bit closer to you!

Oh yes, if you have any clues on how to win the Lottery, will you let me know! 😉

  6. pat garcia says:

Sounds like you have chosen a very appropriate theme and will be able to share very much that will interest others.
    All the best.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Honestly, Pat, most of my Challenge will be about what challenges me… my emotions and frustration. Some of my comments will be about my husband’s health and what he has experienced. It looks like we may be moving in April too, so GOD HELP ME!!

  7. What’s going to get you through this is your wonderful spirit, Gwynn, and your sense of humor. I hope you have some sturdy hands around to some real support as well. And we’re always here for you, even if only to listen and encourage you on. You’ll do fine, I’m positive.
I look forward to your April posts (by the way, your blog link, when I click on it, sends me to Facebook. Sorry to put another technical issue on you. :))

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Hey, Silvia, thanks for the ‘head’s up’ about what my blog does. I guess it would be useful if I understood the boxes I checked. I hope I can change the setting.

Also, THANKS for your support and kind words. Drastically downsizing will NOT be fun… need any stuff??? 😉 At least if you came up to take my extra goodies off my hands, I would actually get the pleasure of meeting you in person!

Now, I’ll go see if I can put my blog back to normal… wish me LUCK!!

      Love and hugs!!

  8. Well, I revealed my non-theme a day late, so join the club. Your theme will be very helpful to you and others in the same boat. I look forward to your postings!

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

      Hi Mary,

This time my blog warned me that you were out here waiting. Thank you for stopping by. I think my posts will be somewhat of a meltdown as I have been under a great deal of stress. Getting old is NOT for the faint of heart, that is for darn sure!! I need to get over to read your blog. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. sue elliott says:

Good luck, fingers crossed all goes well.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Thanks Sue for stopping by to comment. As I told Astrid, NOW we have to downsize and move to add to all this trauma. I hope I survive the Challenge as I AM being challenged!

  10. Astrid says:

Wow, such a great theme. I’m sorry your husband is sick, but I’m glad you’re there to care for him. I look forward to learning about your caregiving journey.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Thanks Astrid! I hope I survive the Challenge as we NOW also have to move and downsize because of my husband’s health. This is quite an adventure! I look forward to checking out your blog.

  11. Somehow I missed commenting on this, Gwynn. But, I’m here now. Better late than rushed, you know.

You made it through the blockages — I don’t know why you would be blocked. But, you’re here and that’s good; and you’re a good writer, so, clearly, I look forward to reading more about your great caregiving adventure.

    • Gwynn Rogers says:

Well, I managed to write topic ideas for each letter of the alphabet, as with the Caregiving topic ideas came to me rather quickly. Now that I’m NOT as emotional as I was, we’ll see how my topic progresses.

Hopefully, I’m not in the middle of a move during April too! I know you will relate to some of my caregiving experiences. I always appreciate your support.
